KCWA Family and Social Services is a non-profit organization established in 1985 by a group of women who were concerned with women and family issues and serves women, men, senior and youth all of them.

Position: Full-time Executive Director

Reports To: KCWA Board of Directors

Job Purpose:

The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization. Reporting directly to the Board, EDs responsibilities include but not limited to: efficient and effective management of overall operation; identifying, planning and implementing programs and services needed; seeking and securing funding and ensuring that the funders’ requirements are met; ensuring the organization is in compliance with all legislated regulations, rules and requirements; Finance, Human Resources and Risk management as well as day-to-day office operation and staff management; representing the organization and participating at community events when required; acting as a spokesperson for the organization when appropriate; as a key resource person and advisor, participating in the Board Strategic Plan process; planning and implementing short and long-term goals and priorities; providing all necessary supports for the Board.


Education and Experience:

University degree and five or more years of progressive management experience in the social service sector or non-profit organization. Other relevant experience in the social services sector will be considered. MSW or MBA degree is an asset.



Proven and demonstrated management skills; comprehensive knowledge of social services and non-profit management; excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Korean; superb interpersonal skills; organization and time-management skills; crisis management skills; technology savvy including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.), use of email and web browsers; excellent public speaking and presentation skills; flexible, versatile and quick learner to adapt to ever changing work and external environments; committed to high professional and ethical standards.


Working conditions:

Works in a normal office environment, but occasionally required to attend community and other external events outside of the agency; standard work hours, but often works evenings and weekends to attend Board/Committee meetings as well as community events.
